Miss Emma Killick ISTD
Head of Dance
Emma studied dance and musical theatre at The Centre of Performing Arts, graduating in 2001. Whilst there she gained her anatomy exam with distinction and ISTD teaching qualifications in both tap and modern. After graduating, Emma went on to perform in many professional pantomimes alongside the likes of Martine McCutcheon, Toyah Wilcox, John Picard, to name but a few. Trade/Hair shows, music videos, Bump and Grind for Channel 4, and TV ads are among the jobs on Emma's varied CV. Alongside her dancing successes, Emma has been teaching for nine years, and feel that she has gained much experience, which she aims to share with her students at The Edge. Emma is soon to be seen working alongside Gok Wan in his Channel 4 show, and is currently working with the solo artist, Fugative.
Miss Sarah Darlington BA Hons
Head of Musical Theatre
Sarah started her theatrical career at the Guildford School of Acting, following the likes of Brenda Blethyn, Bill Nighy, Michael Ball and many more. On graduating she joined the Wigan Pier Theatre Company performing all round the Pier in many different guises. She then went on to be the Princess against Suranne Jones' Aladdin, directed by the incomparable Bill Maynard. After many other theatre jobs, she has most recently been seen performing in many of the crazy sketches in Harry Hill's TV Burp, which won an ITV Comedy Award, as well as several BAFTAs. She also worked on the pilot of his new show, Harry Hill's Hot News. Last year she was working most Sundays at the Canal Café in Maida Vale with Al Murray, playing many characters in his Happy Hour warm-up shows. Sarah has recently finished filming Comedy Live Presents with Russell Brand for Channel 4.
Miss Christina Johnson ISTD
Ballet / Tap / Performance Group
Christina has been dancing since she could walk, and gained most of her graded examinations before going to study further at The Centre of Performing Arts in South London, where she gained her teaching qualifications. Whilst there she also studied musical theatre, modern, tap, jazz, ballet, contemporary dance and partner work. During her time at college, Christina appeared in the TV show Spooks, and performed her end of year showcase at the Bloomsbury Theatre in London's West End.
After graduating, Christina went on to perform and dance at Disneyland Paris, and has had numerous other professional engagements including cabaret in Tunbridge Wells and appearances in music videos. She has been teaching for just over four years and feels she has a lot to give to the students. Christina is extremely excited in helping make The Edge a success!
